The core ministries of Grace Baptist Church are rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus said, “Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.”
Using this scriptural passage, Grace has established seven corporal (physical, fleshly) ministries designed to reach out to the needs of people within our community and beyond, seeking to meet their physical demands with a view to addressing their deeper, spiritual, eternal needs. Jesus addressed human needs by healing the afflictions of individuals so that He might grasp their attention in order to tell them of the kingdom and love of God the Father. In other words—He healed, evangelized, and discipled as opportunity arose. We, as true believers in Jesus Christ, are to “go and do likewise.”
Therefore, our seven corporal ministries are: (1) Feed the Hungry, (2) Clothe the Naked, (3) Welcome the Stranger, (4) Tend the Sick, (5) Visit the Prisoner, (6) Protect the Innocent, and (7) Bury the Dead. The church currently has endeavors in all seven of these ministry zones and anticipates growing the work as the Lord guides and provides the essential resources
